The goal of STC and SSTC is to work with Cambodian institutions—hospitals, universities, government bodies—to create ongoing sustainable programs for the treatment of individuals with dysphagia.
SSTC is collaborating with the Cambodian University of Puthisastra to offer Cambodia’s first post-graduate certificate course in dysphagia management. The yearlong course is aimed at training qualified healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors and physiotherapists) who already encounter patients with swallowing problems in their current workplaces.
We currently have five Cambodian clinic and hospital partners in our collaboration with UP. These institutions have pledged to support their doctors, nurses, and physical therapists throughout their training and to establish ongoing dysphagia services for their patients. More institutions are already interested in joining the program!
