To strengthen long-term sustainability, selected graduates from Year Two of our University of Puthisastra course in Adult Dysphagia Management will advance into an innovative Mentorship Program.
During the course of this intensive one-year program, the Cambodian clinicians will be trained as supervisors and educators. The program includes 47 hours of intensive instruction, combining theory, clinical teaching skills, and real-world mentorship and is funded by Rotary International.

The mentorship program builds clinicians’ expertise in practice-based clinical supervision, including providing direct support, feedback, learning plans, and assessing clinical competencies for trainees.
In addition to developing competencies in dysphagia mentorship, these trainees will broaden their own skills in the evaluation and management of dysphagia.
These Cambodian mentors will work alongside international SLPs to deliver workshops and guide the Year Three trainees.

Over time, this “train the trainer” model will allow Cambodian clinicians to take full ownership of dysphagia education and supervision—reducing reliance on international volunteer SLPs.
We congratulate Ms. Nhem Sreyrann, Mr. Lorn Bunheng, Ms. Touch Sengmouy, and Mr. Sorn Thonn on their successful completion of their mentorship training.
