In 2016, Speech Therapy Cambodia established SSTC in Cambodia to support our mission to provide world-class training and clinical supervision in speech-language pathology, with a focus on dysphagia evaluation and treatment.
The launch of this new website signals a major step in establishing SSTC as a locally led and self-sustaining organization that is improving healthcare in Cambodia.

Advancing Swallowing Care in Cambodia
In Cambodia, people with swallowing difficulties do not often get the help they need because most Cambodian clinicians are not fully trained in the management of swallowing difficulties.
SSTC educates, empowers and advocates for Cambodian healthcare professionals and organizations to provide quality care for people with swallowing difficulties.
In 2023, partnering with the University of Puthisastra and with financial support from the Rotary Foundation, SSTC launched Cambodia’s first course on the evaluation and treatment of swallowing difficulties. Graduates now help patients in hospitals and clinics throughout Phnom Penh.
With the support of Speech Therapy Cambodia, SSTC staff and volunteer international speech-language pathologists have been able to train clinicians to treat adults with swallowing difficulties, offering safe, effective care— improving health, comfort, and quality of life for Cambodians with swallowing difficulties.
